The Holy Cross of Hegensdorf

The year 2000 marked the 750th anniversary of the adoration of the Holy Cross in Hegensdorf. A special Mass was held on September 24th on the sports field with about 1000 people in attendance. The cross is made of wood and covered with silver. In the background of the photo it tells the story of the cross: "three young girls find the cross of Hegensdorf in the forest while they are gathering herbs for the cattle in the year 1250."
